A drabble I wrote while sick with flu, inspired by the chocolate digestive biscuit I was eating. And if you aren’t aware of what one is (it’s a type of cookie if you’re in the US) It’s a digestive biscuit [1] coated in milk chocolate.

Biscuit For A Plague
It is suggested that this digestive biscuit, with its delightful chocolate crown, holds the energy required to defeat the plague dragging mind and body down. Withdrawn from my steaming cup, its cocoa mirror polished by lemon tea. “Mirror, mirror,” I mutter to the treat with failing structural integrity. I save its once-proud figure from mushy fate with a generous chomp.
Alas. Martha, bless her, has poisoned me. I would protest loudly; however, painful death throes silence my plea.
Humorous; the poison mingled with plague and mutated. I shan’t die. Eternally sick, yet perpetually animated.
Ah, Martha. Now, where is my revolver?
